Colonial American Longrifle Kit — General Order of Assembly

Assemble the kit in the following order. Each step is described in detail in the sections that follow.

1. Fit barrel and tang to stock

2. Install trigger plate and trigger

3. Install the buttplate

4. Drill underlug pin holes

5. Install box lid and catch spring (if purchased)

6. Install the lock

7. Install the sideplate

8. Check wood clearance for the lock’s moving parts

9. Adjust lock and trigger relationship

10. Install the guard

11. Install ramrod pipes

12. Install the nose cap

13. Install sights

14. Install ramrod tip

15. Finish metal

16. Finish wood
